Robber gets away with a stamp before being arrested

Grandpa’s Antiques Photo’s in Surfers Paradise was held up at knifepoint by a Caucasian male last Thursday night.

Shop assistant Karin Von Behrens said the guy staggered into the shop with a knife in his hand asking for money.

“He wasn’t threatening though because he was slurring and he couldn’t walk properly.”

“I told him to go way and that we didn’t have any money, then he got really annoyed,” said another shop assistant.

Before the man left he stabbed the computer keyboard with his knife, snatched a stamp from the counter and then proceeded to whack his head on the roller door before walking out of the shop.

The man was arrested shortly after the robbery. Police said he now faces up to five years in prison.
